Community Liaison/System Navigator - (FRN) Rural Multicultural Supports - Calgary Immigrant Women's Association
Hourly Position - 37.5 hours per week
Limited term until March 31, 2025
The role of the Community Liaison/System Navigator is to liaise service delivery and support in building a network of multicultural and newcomer resources for Family Resource Networks in rural communities across Alberta. The Community Liaison will report to and work closely with the Project Coordinator in supporting the successful implementation of all project components of the Family Resource Network (FRN) Rural Multicultural Supports.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Liaise and build trust-based professional relationships with stakeholders to expand the relationships and increase the capacity of Family Resource Networks to serve newcomers in rural communities
• Connect FRNs and/or clients with relevant supports and services
• Actively conduct outreach activities to promote the Family Resource Network Rural Multicultural Supports
• Collaborate with FRN Coordinator and Department Manager to engage clients
• Facilitate client referrals as needed through in-person, over the phone, virtual and/or email communication
• Conduct follow-ups with FRNs, service providers, and/or clients to ensure supports and services requested are being accessed
• Assist Project Coordinator with monthly reporting and other administrative tasks as and when needed
• Participate in regular staff meetings, case conferences, in-service training, and other meetings as required
• Assist Department Manager with outcome measurement, evaluation and reporting
• Maintain up-to-date project records through the use of spreadsheets, folders, and other relevant databases
• Ensure client data entry is complete and accurate in CMS database
• Attend and participate in CIWA events
• Other duties as assigned by the Department Manager including requests for additional paid hours on a temporary basis when needed

• A high level of IT and Administrative skills
QUALIFICATIONS
• A university degree in human services or related disciplines is required
• Proven experience developing and fostering relevant partnerships and collaborations
• Appreciation and knowledge of cultural diversity/experience working with the immigrant population
• Excellent written communication and presentation skills
• Strong organizational skills and interpersonal skills
• Excellent computer skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Second language is an asset
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle is required as the position involves some travel across Alberta
The successful candidate must satisfactorily complete a Police Information Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Search. CIWA does not cover this cost.
