The Brenda Strafford Foundation (BSF) is a charitable organization that currently owns and operates five Aging Care & Senior Living communities in Calgary, AB, and Okotoks, AB. We take pride in providing a safe, caring, and comfortable home environment that caters to the complex needs of our senior residents and families. Locally, in Calgary, BSF also operates Alberta’s largest second-stage shelter providing safe shelter and comprehensive support services to women and children leaving abuse and violence.

The Role:
Are you a finance or accounting student looking for hands-on experience in a dynamic and purpose-driven organization? The Brenda Strafford Foundation is seeking an Accounting Summer Student to join our Finance Team this summer!
- Process and record accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies.
- Support residents and families with billing activities, trust accounts, and financial inquiries.
- Assist with occupancy reporting and financial reconciliations.
- Act as an on-site liaison between the Finance Team and manor operations.
- Provide support to multiple locations during vacations.
- Assist with special projects as assigned by the Finance Team Leads

Who We're Looking For:
- Currently pursuing a degree/diploma in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience with SAP ERP, PointClickCare, or similar financial software is an asset.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
